New Zealandâ€™s Rebecca Sinclair Places Sixth at Burton US Open
Rebecca ‘Bex’ Sinclair achieved a sixth place finish at the world’s biggest and most prestigious open snowboarding event, the TTR World Tour 6-Star Burton US Open, in Stratton Vermont.
The week kicked off following training cancellation due to torrential rain with dazzling performances from Sinclair and Mitch Brown – both qualifying in first place in the halfpipe.
Sinclair landed her first frontside 900 in competition to achieve a 95 point score out of a possible 100.
Sinclair, went from strength to strength during the semi-finals finishing the first of her two runs in eighth place, before stepping up to fourth position in her second run and gaining a coveted spot in the six-women finals.
The Junior World Champs is on in Italy early April, and will be the last international event for NZ Snowboard team members. It has been another big season of international competition highlighted by great results at the FIS World Champs, Dew Tour and Global Open Series.
