Billabong Juniors Dominate 2011 Quiksilver King of the Groms
Billabong's international juniors Yan Daberkow (BRA), Mitch Parkinson (AUS) and Cam Richards (USA) dominated the world final of the Quiksilver King of the Groms in Hossegor, France.
Yan came from behind to take down Mitch on his last wave and win the final in high performance 3-4 foot waves at La Graviere, Hossegor. " I feel so good, It's been my first time in France, waves are great, people are super nice, I had such a good time", said Yan. " I'm super excited to do the trials of the Quik Pro Gold Coast 2012!"
Cam ripped beyond his years and finished a creditable 3rd losing to the eventual event winner Yan in a hard fought semi final.
"To have 3 of our juniors come out on top in what is widely regarded as the premier 16 and under event in the world is a real complement to Billabong's global junior development program. Having 3 different regions Brazil, Australia and the US represented here is fantastic and really shows the depth of our junior team" Sam Carrier, Men's Marketing Manager Billabong Europe.
