About A Girl with Anne-Flore Marxer
About a girl
Each month, meet a very special girl involved with Billabong. Designers, artists, riders…these girls are all so talented, passionate and inspirational, we just thought we’d share with you a little bit of their awesome lives.
This month, meet Anne-Flore Marxer, Billabong pro snowboarder
What's on your current Ipod playlist?
Selah Sue, Mando Diao, Lana Del Rey, Florence + The Machine, Nina Simone, Katie Tunstall, Brooke Fraser, Nouvelle Vague, Bedouin Soundclash..
What's in your closet?
Lots of cute billabong stuffI really like the sweater James because of the zip sideways and the big hood..And i aslo really like all the Matthieu Georges print tees.. i love his work and it goes really well with my everyday mood.. but when I open it I have also tons of dresses that’s I ve kept for the past 10 years as well as some pretty freaking rad heels that I never get to wear properly :)
What are you must-haves for winter?
My Billabong winter Jacket is my definite favorite... but that’s cheating because I was the one choosing pretty much all of it !
When you travel what are 5 things you can’t live without?
My computer, a travel pillow.. a valid password and a toothbrush.. of course that’s a bit common but I also like to have a camera to capture some of those really beautiful places I get to visit
Tell us about your role as a KAB ambassador and the collaboration with your Billabong pro model Jacket and Keep A Breast
I m really honored to help promote such a great foundation as Keep a Breast. It means a lot to me, after losing my god mother and seeing 2 cousins of mine heal from breast cancer, I am deeply moved by this cause. Create awareness, support each other, find funds for research… all steps are important and I wish I could do more. We are young, athletic, happy and leaving the dream, yet all women are concerned by breast cancer and we all need to unify against it. Nourish your soul with dreams, with happiness, with travels, with art, with sports, with love and with solidarity. This is what life is all about, enjoy every moment
What are your plans for this winter ?
I ll be filming all winter. Pushing my own limits, travelling to new places and ride steeper faces and bigger terrain. I ll be enjoying snowboarding to the fullest and making everyday count.
Any specific workout, training ?
I would be lying if I said I was training, but I love participating to outdoor sports, being out in the nature and doing fun stuff. When my winter is over I go to the ocean and I go surfing. When I don’t have an ocean I spend time on lakes ad I go wakeboarding.. I try to do some biking and some yoga.. anything outside with the elements will make me happy. I love coming back home tired after a day of fun sports
What’s the best thing about being a pro-snowboarder ?
The snowboarding for sure !! I get to shred on untracked snow most of the time, the traveling.. when we go filming we always meet other people who share the same passion... we end up stuck in very remote places and I love that. It always creates great memories
What’s the worst part of it ?
Not having much of a personal life I guess.. but it’s a choice.I know that snowboarding has become my job, with a lot of time on my computer making some sacrifices etc.. but it’s also something I love doing so I’m fine with it. I feel really lucky to be able to live from my passion. So I enjoy all of it as much as possible.
Tell us something people don’t know about you…
I used to play soccer when I was a kid and I was horse riding too.
Thanks Anne-Flore !
