2018 Billabong Bloodlines Hawaii: Camp 3 Wrap-Up
Just as forecasted for Bloodlines Camp 3, the wind came up along with the swell. These are the times we are really fortunate to have Coach Rainos Hayes on hand to help us navigate the tricky conditions and find the best possible spots to surf.
Early morning surf checks were a must and we ended up surfing 9 different spots throughout the last 5 days of the camp. We found big hollow waves, small grindy waves, and everything in between. The kids adapted well and charged, making us proud of the Billabong icon on the nose of their boards. To make things interesting we had tag teams, mock heats, and everyone’s favorite game, the Big Board Challenge.
On the final night, we had our last awards ceremony and crowned Lennix Smith from Shell Harbor, Australia, as our camp champ. Congrats to all our little chargers and we are already looking forward to next year!
The final night all the awards were given out and were decided as follows:
- Biggest Whinger - Cannon Carr
- Biggest Snake - Cole McCaffray
- Person You Would Most Want to Travel With – Lennix Smith
- Funniest Person - Lennix Smith
- Best Barrel - Joao Mendoca
- Hardest Charger - Joao Mendoca
- Best Style - Lennix Smith
- Most Progressive - Mon Yahagi
...and, once again, the overall winner of Bloodlines Camp 3: Lennix Smith!
That's a wrap on our Billabong Bloodlines Hawaii Camps for 2018, but stay tuned for our full video recap from our month on the North Shore coming soon!
