Frederico Morais wins second stop of Liga Moche
Frederico Morais has won the Allianz Caparica Pro, the second leg of the Liga Moche 2016. Having missed the first event of the series through injury Kikas was pumped to do well and be in the running for the overall title. He defeated current series leader Gony Zubizarreta in the final.
"There is no better way to start the Liga Moche 2016," Frederico said. "At first the cold water was an issue, as I have been surfing in boardshorts for the last three months in Australia. In the end I caught as many waves as I could, because with the conditions the trick was to paddle for anything that moved and hope the wave would be one of the better ones. It was a great weekend with great surfing and it is so good to be back home!”
Morais will now look forward to the next stage of the Liga Moche to be held in Porto, between 13th and 15th May, before hitting the road to Japan and South Africa in his quest to qualify for the WSL Championship Tour.
