12 Songs You Need to Hear Right Now
We know that sometimes you just can't make the paddle out. It's too flat, you don't have the time or life is pulling you in some other direction. We get it. We also know that you don't have to let the lack of a session kill your vibe so we've put together a pretty legit playlist featuring some of our favorite bands of the moment. Want to know more about a few of the artists featured on our playlist? We've got you covered with an artist spotlight below.
Since the band's inception in 2006, Apache have become the Bay Area's self-described "Purveyors of Heavy Pop." In their 10+ years of existence they've put out a number of records and limited edition cassettes, including 2008's Boomtown Gems and Radical Sabbatical in 2010. The 5 piece's latest album, Alcatraz, landed last year and has been a staple in the office ever since. Catch the boys out on the road throughout March and if you're lucky enough to be at SXSW, make sure you catch one of their 8 shows that week.
Billy and his bandmates are from one of LA's most creative neighborhoods - Echo Park - and the Southern California influence shines through on his self-titled album out via Lolipop Records. Billy's work is best known for his work with his band Moving Units but made the call to strike out on his own, telling the LA Record "I’ve become a chronic single task thinker." We're fully behind this train of thought and look forward to hearing more of this project.
Cosmonauts are a three piece from Fullerton, CA but they're audience has expanded well beyond the "Orange Curtain" (they're wrapping up a European tour that took them from Sweden to the UK and everywhere in between). With a prolific output that includes 4 full length's, 2 EP's and 3 single's, the boys have become critical darlings and are poised to be a band to watch in 2017.
