Frederico Morais wins the Allianz Sintra Pro
Frederico “Kikas” Morais has won the Allianz Sintra Pro, defeating Vasco Ribeiro in the final of stop four of the Liga Moche series, held at Praia Grande in Sintra.
"I'm very happy because I knew it would be a very difficult against Vasco as he was the form surfer all weekend,” Morais said after his win. “It was a demanding weekend, but it turned out to be great."
The win continued Kikas’ incredible run of form, having won the previous Moche Liga event, before claiming a maiden win on the Qualifying Series at the Martinique Pro, and then a solid performance in Japan.
This win in Sintra also propelled Morais up to the fifth place in the Liga Moche rankings. With only one event left remaining in the series he now has a great chance to defend the title he won in 2015.
"Everything is still open, and anything can happen,” said Morias. “I just know that I will give everything to win the title and will have even more incentive to do it in my home town of Cascais.”
In between then Morais will regroup back home before heading to South Africa for the next QS 6000 event, the Ballito Pro in South Africa. “I’m looking forward to training and surfing at home, before psyching for the next event,” Morais said. “It’s been a great month or so, and I can’t wait to keep the ball rolling and try to qualify for the CT.”
