Gorgeous beach hair without the beach

Some of our best hair moments have been after we have spent the day catching waves and hanging at the beach. It seems as though the combination of sea salt, ocean water, wind and sun magically leaves us with picture-perfect beach waves. But as much as we would love to spend every day hanging ocean-side, there are times when we just can’t. So for those sad and unfortunate beach-less days, we have figured out a way to still achieve gorgeous mermaid hair, even when the beach is nowhere in sight.

Today we are sharing the perfect recipe to achieve effortless, beach babe tresses that you can attain at home…no beach necessary! This formula will create texture and a certain “piece-y-ness”for your hair, but it will not necessarily curl your hair. If you are looking for more of a curl, try curling your hair first and then applying the spray.

Shopping List:

  • Sea Salt
  • Organic coconut oil
  • Organic hair gel
  • Spray bottle & measuring spoons

In an empty spray bottle, fill with one cup of warm water.

Add 1 teaspoon sea salt, 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil, and 1 teaspoon of hair gel. Mix well.

Sea salt, though full of vitamins, has some drying qualities which is why it is important to mix in the coconut oil. The oil acts as a moisturizing agent, keeping hair looking and feeling soft.

Spray onto damp, towel-dried hair, but be careful not to spray your roots or scalp. This may weigh the hair down at the roots. With your hands, scrunch hair beginning at the ends.

Finish with hair spray or a light curl with an iron.

Say hello to your gorgeous head of hair.
