Seth Moniz and Billabong Bloodlines Team Shine at the ECSC
Today Billabong team rider Seth Moniz won the Pro Jr at the ECSC in Virginia Beach, VA with Billabong team Rider Griffin Colapinto coming in a close 2nd. With the waves were in the stomach high range, and a stiff north wind blowing into the rights creating some fun rippable waves, Seth took advantage. Griffin came out of the gates as soon as the hooter blew posting a solid five for a blow tail reverse. Colapinto then picked up a high seven mid heat linking together three hacks. Seth started slow waiting patiently for the good waves to come his way. He then linked up a wave carving through three sections and smashing the end section posting a mid range five. Moniz paddled out the back and immediately stroked into the wave of the heat. He opened up with a big carve followed up with two beautiful hooks in the pocket and again smashed the end section scoring a 7.93. The rest of the heat the other competitors were chasing scores and when the buzzer signaled the end, Moniz was the man on top.
In other divisions Laired Myers won boys under 16's and boys under 14. It was a great week of competition at one of the East Coast's premiere events and a huge congratulations to our whole team on surfing insane!
