• Surf Films in Hamburg this summer !

Zeise Cinemas in Hamburg, Germany celebrate the art of surffilms on the big screen all summer long!

Every Friday night between 04. July and 29. August the famous theatre dedicates their latenight special at 22.30 to a surffilm documentary. All time classics like "Endless Summer" Part I and II are featured next to award winning films like the Austrian (!) film "Zen & Zero" and others.

On 22. August Billabong will be the host of a special double feature night with two of the most amazing documentaries in surffilm history. "The Pure Line" is a documentary on the famous pointbreak Supertubes in Jeffrey's Bay, South Africa. This famous surfspot hosts the annual Billabong Pro J-Bay and is among the most famous waves in the world. "The Pure Line" takes the viewer inside the contest scene and even further back in time when Supertubes was discovered in the 70s. Narrated by surfing legend Shaun Tomson this movie even goes beyond an amazing wave. It shows the positive impact of surfing on the poblems of the South African society by simply bringing people together and sharing a wave.
  
The second feature film of the night will be "Mundaka - A Documentary"! This film portraits the average life in a small fishing village in the Basque Country that is turned into complete madness for two weeks every year, when the Top 45 surfers of the WCT arrive for the Billabong Pro Mundaka. Hear from the local fishermen, the surfers, the judges, the event organizers and from the surfing fans travelling to Mundaka, what this special place means to them and how one wave can change your life for good. This film will have it's premiere in Germany on 22. August as part of the Billabong Night during the Surfer Nights Surffilm Festival at the Zeise Kinos in Hamburg, Germany.
